Our Work: Offering Hope & Empowerment

Rebuilding Lives with Dignity and Purpose

When we look into the eyes of the children we serve, we see innocent hope. Behind them stand caregivers - often widowed grandmothers - bearing the weight of loss and fear.

FOWCUS stands in that gap, walking with families toward a better tomorrow. Our work is rooted in:

  • Faith in action

  • Compassionate love

  • Building strong communities

We offer hope and empowerment in three key areas:

1) Empowering Orphans Through Education Support

In Kenya, education is the new inheritance. With land ownership shrinking, education is a child’s best path to a brighter future.

Though primary education is officially “free,” hidden costs like:

  • Building and development fees

  • Uniforms and books

make it out of reach for many orphans.

Our Response: MWAKI Educational Orphans Program

Named after the Meru word for “builder,” MWAKI (Mwana Wetu [Our child] Adopt a Kid Initiative) currently supports 45 children, covering vital educational costs.

Your gift makes a REAL difference:

  • $25 = 1 month of school supplies for a child

  • $100 = uniform or development fees for a child

  • $180-$250 = full year of school support for one child

Will you give the gift of education and a future?

2) Building Community to Restore Hope

We rally communities to become agents of love and acceptance. Through our Guardians Fellowship, caregivers meet weekly to pray, share, and support one another.

“These small acts of hope giving gatherings create ripples - awakening villages to care for their own orphaned children with renewed purpose.”

  • Each weekly meeting costs about $30 for beverages and snacks for up to 40 women.

  • $120 sponsors a full month of meetings.

Will you sponsor a month of hope-filled gatherings?

3) Empowering Guardians & Youth Purpose

True empowerment begins with opportunity. Many guardians have lost their livelihoods, and youth lack access to higher education or vocational training.

Through self-help projects, training, and Empathic Mission Outreach, we co-create solutions tailored to community needs - fostering ownership and lasting impact.

Current Initiatives:

  • Building a community library and digital learning hub

  • Launching youth skill-building programs for post-high school graduates

  • Expanding Guardians Fellowship with income-generating projects

Your support helps transform lives:

  • $120 = Launch a caregiver’s small business

  • $200 = Seed funding for a community library or digital learning hub [budget = $15,000]

  • $250 = Seed funding for youth-led micro-enterprise [budget = $9,500]

  • $350 = A year’s support for one youth’s skill training

Together we can turn survival into self-reliance.
